Based on the 1782 novel of the same title by Pierre Choderlos, Dangerous Liaisons was my second costume project while at the National Theatre School of Canada, under the guidance of designer Pierre-Guy Lapointe.

I chose to mix mediums, with the use of ink, gouache, and collage of hand-dyed paper to explore the decadence of the characters who inhabit the play's world.

Though this project did not see the realization of my design, had I the chance to develop them, I hoped for the dresses to be made of silk taffeta, a fabric that could change under light as quickly and often as the characters decide to turn on each other.
